碩士 === 國立臺北教育大學 === 藝術與造形設計學系碩士班 === 100 === The main focus of this thesis is the relationship between “local aesthetics” and “art education”. When art education involves local aesthetics, the local cultures get to be preserved and passed on via physically experiencing art in local aesthetics form. I chose Sinsin Village of Shuili Township, Nantou County as the base of my research. The understanding of how the local people construct their “village of living arts” as well as recognize that social binding is an artistic form of expression enables me to have a closer examination of their concepts and thinking of their “village of living arts”. From there, collected information regarding the local people’s views of local aesthetics will be organized, scrutinized and categorized. The village’s local aesthetics also shed light on the relationship between the local people and local cultures. The process of preserving and passing on the local cultures via their view of aesthetics is the building of art education by the local people. At the same time, the local people’s behavior also indicates the form of the art education. In conclusion, firstly, the establishment of the “village of living arts” with “local cultures” in Sinsin Village sparks the exploring of “ local aesthetics” and from there it gives rise to a “village of living arts” and there the “art education” takes shape and contributes back to “Sinsin Village”. The relationship of chain reaction allows us to see the greater potentials in both local aesthetics and art education.
