Summary:碩士 === 國立臺東大學 === 特殊教育學系碩士在職專班 === 103 === Abstract Applying the narrative mode of the qualitative research, the study aims to explore a hearing-impaired of facing the challenges progress of psychological adjustment, the experience of the work adjustment and the difficult situations. Data collection is mainly by in-depth interviewing to get the interactions of the object of the study with the families, relatives, intimate friends, school colleagues and the supervisors. Through the macroscopic and microcosmic point of views, to analyze the information of daily routine, then to reconstruct and reinterpret the meaning from the life experiments of the object. The documented research findings are as below: 1. There are four stages for the hearing-impaired facing the challenged progress of psychological adjustment: deny of being disabilities, fear to admit disabilities, accept disabilities, and accompany with learning disability. 2. The variation of psychological reception of the hearing-impaired facing the disabilities would continue influencing the behavior of self-identity. 3. As to the difficulties and the inconvenience from disabilities, the hearing-impaired should keep positive straightforward attitude. In addition, it is essential to learn flexible responses to negative reality and to build up the positive value. 4. In the workplace, the hearing-impaired needs to devote more efforts with good performance and attitude in order to be accepted by the associates and eliminate the doubts to advance the communication and interaction. 5. As the hearing-impaired encounter the helpless difficulties, the support of coworkers who admit of their inconvenience would be extremely needed. In conclusion, according to the research results, provided that the recommendations toward the hearing-impaired, associated parties, school education, and future research directions.
