Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣藝術大學 === 圖文傳播藝術學系碩士班 === 100 === Due to the rapid growth of smart phones and tablet PCs, it began a new population that is getting trend of more and more people but the lower and lower ages, so we called “Computer Diseases of Civilization" or "Computer Syndrome". Because these user always head down and hard using these devices, we also called " Smartphone Addicts". As result of operating devices and concentrating on screens, these devices have caused damage in the past decades. Like the sore muscle of backache, neck, shoulder, elbow and wrist are the common symptom by using reading devices. Not only sore muscle, but they also caused Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI) of Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) or Tendonitis seriously. In order to understand that users resulted physiological fatigue when they used the different reading displaying devices to read the magazine, the study carried on analysis of difference and applicability. The research purpose was that users resulted physiological fatigue by using different reading displaying devices to read the magazine and physiological reaction by operating the different reading displaying devises, which contrasted the difference and applicability of each other. The study was divided into four experimental groups: smartphone, tablet PC, notebook PC and paper of magazine. Each group had 35 subjects who were the 20 to 30-year-old students and office workers. After the experimentation of reading the magazine by four experimental groups, subjects had to fill the three different questionnaires. Subjects was not limited time, posture and sitting by the study. When users were reading by reading displaying devices, they usually used the custom posture. If users was limited their posture, that we were lost the mainly purpose by the experimentation. After statistical analysis of experimental data, subjects in smartphone used the longest time to read and a part of subjects could not keep reading after a period of time. In the statistical analysis of visual fatigue, smartphone was the worst in the four experimental groups. So the study suggested that if users need to read the magazines or feature-length of magazines, they should not use the smartphones to read. The average of reading time was little different between paper magazines, tablet PC and notebook PC, but only the integer score of the paper magazines was not conspicuous in visual fatigue, and part of subjects was conspicuous by reading displaying devices. In the subject of “my wrist feels pain”, there were conspicuous by three reading displaying devices. To indicate that reading for a long time by using reading displaying devices could make the pain of wrist. In the subject of “my neck feels pain”, all the experimental groups were conspicuous, it means that reading for a period of time by using reading displaying devices or paper magazines which all could make the pain of neck. In addition to each experimental group got the conspicuous standard which subjects were a little different, but the tablet PC got the most subjects by getting conspicuous standard. Due to the limitation of time and technology, that could not complete the objective biofeedback experiment, and used subjective questionnaire to compare analysis, test and verify. If someone who is interested in this domain, we suggest to do the objective experiment and augment the ages, it may will have the different results.
