After determining the dimensions of parts, creating the geometric models of components by CAD software usually increases the working hours. Although there are various mechanical design packages, they only determine the dimensions of the parts with no function of acquiring the part model directly. Also, the software focuses on the development of particular type of part which has a long way to go on common use. Hence, the research attempts to use Pro/Toolkit and MFC of Visual C++ as the core program to develop the module of spring design, which leads to the integration of Pro/E and mechanical design. In the future, designers could decrease the period of development through the following steps: input simple design parameters into the module, calculate automatically by the module, then getting the geometric model of parts directly.
