Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣科技大學 === 營建工程系 === 100 === The seismic performance of a structure depends not only on the
performance of structural components but also on performance of the
equipment and other in-house facilities. To maintain the functionality of a
structure after a major earthquake, the important facilities have to be
functional after the quake.
In this study, a full scale cooling tower system with vibration
isolation springs will be experimentally investigated for its cyclic
hysteretic behavior and dynamic behavior. Cyclic loading tests and
shaking table tests are conducted. The damage mechanism and dynamic
amplification factor of the vibration isolation spring are identified. In
addition, since the cooling tower cannot be considered as a rigid body
while some other mechanical/electrical system such as emergency power
generator, the dynamic behavior and seismic vulnerability of the cooling
tower are also investigated.
