Therefore, modern companies have been paying more attention to the knowledge management (KM) to maintain their competition. However, there are many factors that need to be carefully considered while implementing KM. For instance, it may influence financial structure and how? It may influence management processes and how? The research thesis motivates on this issue and conducts a case study that deals with the feasibility of a KM system (KMS). Interview subjects include both management and execution levels of product development division from both Taiwan and mainland China. Research findings and suggestions are as that the case company should: (1) prepare for daily schedule and finance needs because implementing a KMS may involve business reengineering problems. (2) define the substantial plan and index for further evaluation before KMS is implemented. (3) develop an investigation plan for the KMSs available in market by integrating the comments and suggestions from all related divisions. The KMS functions should depend totally on the division requirements. (4) have the policy that the top management have to totally support the KMS implementation and ensure required document development.
