| Summary: | 碩士 === 中國文化大學 === 音樂學系碩士班西洋音樂組 === 100 === This study focuses on Dmitri Shostakovich's Cello Sonata in D minor, composed in 1934. This work is the only cello sonata by Shostakovich, and also his first mature work in chamber music.
This thesis consists of five chapters. Chapter one is an introduction, which states the motive, purpose, and researching methodology of this study. Chapter two narrates the composer's life, style, and the background of this sonata. Chapter three focuses on the musical analysis of this work. Chapter four discusses the performance issues and the interpretation of this work. Chapter five concludes with the results of my research.
