碩士 === 中國文化大學 === 韓國語文學系 === 100 === The interpreters play a role of a medium and the social function within two languages and cultures, which means interpreting is not only a skill but a response of practicing the society. The interpreters and those who want to be interpreters should understand and be familiar with the subject the speaker is going to talk about; and also, learning about the words associated with the subject is necessary, for the reason that the interpreters have to start their work as soon as arriving at the work field. When interpreting, the interpreters have to listen to the speakers carefully and be aware of the meaning of the two languages. To analyze and express the meaning correctly, it is important to be able to react and memorize immediately, which means the interpreters have to be professional and experienced, and be able to deal with pressure with ease. The interpreters should have a total understanding about the professional ethics; furthermore, one of the essential factors of being a good interpreter is learning and being familiar with those mistakes often be made while interpreting the precautions. The interpreters help with the communication between two different cultures; however, the misunderstanding were often caused by the interpreters’ carelessness of the mistakes and the precautions. Therefore, this thesis analyzed the three mistakes which were often made and their precautions. First, the mistakes made by the interpreter and the precautions will be talking about, including the interpreter’s condition, deficiency of language ability, the mistakes made while interpreting and the precautions will be talking about. Second, the mistakes made by the speaker and the precautions will be mentioned, including the interpreter’s misunderstanding about the speech and the problems caused by the speaker’s reading of the manuscript. Third, the mistakes made by the consignor and the precautions will be talking about, including the subject of the speech, the kind of the conference, the time, the place, the organizer, the illustration of the subject matter and the remuneration. The precaution is made by having a consultation before taking the case and interpreting. The consultation before interpreting including confirming the manuscript, checking the speaker’s point of view and asking about the proper noun and other questions about the subject. The analyzation above is aiming at helping the interpreters understand more about the role they play and raise their ability and the quality of interpreting, making the consignors and speakers respect the interpreters’ more; furthermore, help the internal interpreters get in touch with the world and get better quality. If there is a regret while doing the thesis, it must be the deficiency of the interpretation-related books, which is the reason that most parts of this thesis were from the Chinese and Japanese dissertations, several Korean books and interpretation-related thesis in Taiwan. This thesis is aiming at getting people understand the interpreters and their works more, and hope there will be more and more dissertations, books and related thesis in the future.
