They are anxious and highly intense. To relieve their stress, they eat emotionally. However, this kind of behavior makes them gain weight and bring out chronic diseases. Moreover, it’s harmful for their health physically and psychologically. This research aims to explore the present situation of the stressed elementary school teachers in Taipei City. It also discusses the relationship between their job stress and the emotional eating. Besides, it tries to explore the diversity under the different variables. The method of questionnaire survey is utilized in this research. By way of the stratified random sampling method, the survey is conducted with the samplings of the elementary school teachers in Taipei City. It includes the administrators, home room teachers, subject teachers, and the teachers of special education. There are 510 questionnaires given out totally, and 473 questionnaires are returned. The total of valid returned questionnaires is 459. The effective response ratio is 90% and the validity rate of the returned questionnaires is 97.04%. The investigation instrument is a self-made questionnaire of investigating the job stress and emotional eating of the elementary school teachers in Taipei. There are four parts in the questionnaire: the teachers’ job stress, the feelings to the work, the emotional eating, and personal information. The collected data are analyzed with frequency distribution, percentage, the statistics of description, t-test, One-Way ANOVA, Scheffe method, Pearson relationship, and multiple regression analysis. The major results of the study are as follows: 1.The teachers of special education have the greatest work stress in the elementary schools of Taipei City. The job stress of unmarried teachers is greater than the married teachers. The better ability of frustration tolerance, the less job stress. 2.The personal variables including the marriage condition, the length of teaching career, the academic degree, the job position, and the ability of tolerating frustration all influences the feelings about job stress. The result performs large effect. 3.The job stress of Taipei elementary school teachers shows a positive correlation with emotional eating. 4.The emotions of Taipei elementary school teachers show a negative correlation with emotional eating. Negative feelings significantly have positive correlation with emotional eating. 5.The job stress and emotions of Taipei elementary school teachers provide a significant prediction to emotional eating. According to the result of the research, providing teachers with various stress releasing courses and food education through the educational website and multi-media is suggested. It will help teachers to gain more knowledge about how to release the stress and eat more healthily. At last, teachers can develop correct concept of stress management and healthy eating behavior.
