This study adopted Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) approach Two-Stage Model and BCG Matrix to evaluate the operation performance of 34 listed & OTC domestic correspondence network industry from 2008 to 2010.To illustrate the difference of performance with relative operating financial data as two stage input and output variables for finding out the character of benchmark companies between study case.
The first stage explored the input factors of production efficiency and the output factors which were the operation goals of corporation especially emphasized the importance of R&D on net sales. The study selected input items including the number of employees and assets R&D investment; output items including net sales and outside operating revenues adds other income. While the second stage researched market efficiency to analyze expected value of companies from market. To select input items including the output items of first stage: net sales, outside operating revenues adds other income; Output items including earnings per share, business ratio of margin.
To sum up the empirical results from 2008 to 2010,HTC and TWM Corporation won the title of Star Firm for three years, CHT, AzureWave, FETnet, DrayTek, SILITECH were representative game correspondence network company of basic economy ,also be include in Star or Cow Firm.
The research concluded the operation performance of the correspondence network industry have diverse operation strategy and execution efficiency. Through Two-Stage DEA approach could compare production efficiency of correspondence network industry on net sales and outside operating revenues adds other income indeed and find out input-output conversion efficiency, as to the market value probably not has same performance. This study used Two-Stage DEA and BCG Matrix figured out that the marketing policy in Taurus should be a potential way of business policy, compared to corporation of high execution efficiency and low market share. Since only have HTC and TWM Corporation won the title of Star Firm, indicated that correspondence network industry should improve on production efficiency and market value.
