| Summary: | 碩士 === 世新大學 === 傳播管理學研究所(含碩專班) === 100 === This study has taken the Next TV as the object of observation. The two main research questions of this study are: (1) The impact of 3D animation application on the production process of TV news; (2) The impact of the introduction of the animated TV news on the nature of the work of TV news reporters. The case study method is used as the research method, and the data collected include: internal secondary data analysis, in-depth interviews with news reporters, and the direct personal observation of the actual situation of the operations and production of news.
The results of this study: the part of news production: (1) The organizational level: The organization uses the new technology (animation) to change the process of news production, and thus the reporters have to adapt to the changes in news production. Moreover, the organizational policy and organizational culture also allow reporters to observe the overall atmosphere and then internalize the information as the direction of the work. In addition, due to the complexity of the process of TV news production, a standard division operation mode of news production system is also needed for the normal operation and broadcast of TV news. (2) The media routines level: The production of animated news is time-consuming, and thus a particular routine of production process has been developed in order to accord with the speed characteristic of news. Besides, the degree of refinement presented in the animated news is restricted by the number of animated news and the time table. When it comes to the range of more specialized fields, the reporters tend to rely on the information provided by the sources. Also, the gaps between the actual represented animation news and the imagination of the reporters may result in the limitation of report logic. (3) The individual level: The reporters will assess the needs of the animated news by their own in accordance with the degree of the strength of the news footage or the integrity of the information gathered.
The part of news reporters: (1) Cognitive differences: Reporters may have some doubts about the application of animated news when the animation production time has shortened the information-gathering time and further results in less delicate animated news, the excessive use of animated news to replace with real images, and the news entertainment. In addition, the convenience of the animation for filling the missing footage also causes the dependence of the reporters on animated news. (2) Operating modes: The logic of the story told by the reporters would be limited to the contents of the animation. In addition, reporters would concentrate on gathering more detailed information during the interview. The working time is compressed into a shorter period of time and the workload is heavier due to the complexity of the production process.
