Various game platforms such as arcade games, video games, online games, and social networks games provide the players different types of entertainment. As a unique game genre, horror video games have also drawn considerable attention among the demographics of players. Horror video games tend to trigger negative emotions, such as fear, anxiety, and nervousness etc., instead of positive emotions which are induced in common video games. In this study, players’ responses in horror video game were examined. Seven graduate students were invited to the gameplay experiments. For each subject, the extent for exposing to negative stimuli was assessed by browsing a couple of selected pictures of International Affective Picture System (IAPS). Implementation of the three templates of the main experiment according to the results of clustering.Subjects after the end of each template to fill in a self-report questionnaire, fill out another scale and questionnaire at the end of the experiment. Results on the performance of the horror video games factors, the players' manipulation and auxiliary weapons to attack the power of the formation of character dimensions factor is indeed higher than that of other factors, but also further confirmed that the design of the horror video games, these two factors the players fear importance.
