A total of 346 subjects participated in this study. The questionnaires employed in this study included students’ background information, English learning motivation scale, English learning attitude scale, and parenting styles scale. The data were analyzed by means of descriptive analyses, One-Way ANOVA and Pearson product-moment correlation. The major findings were as follows: 1.On English learning motivation, most vocational high school students were extrinsically motivated. Besides, students in Business Management Department and Civil Engineering Department scored higher than those in Electrical Engineering Department. 2.On English learning attitude, most vocational high school students were not positive. Moreover, students in Machinery Drawing and Civil Engineering Department scored higher than those in Electrical Engineering Department. In addition, students in Civil Engineering Department scored higher than those in Data processing Department and Electrical Engineering Department. 3.On parenting styles, most vocational high school students’ parents adopted authoritarian parenting style, whereas neglectful parenting style was the least adopted one. Moreover, students of authoritative and permissive parents scored higher in learning motivation and attitude than those with neglectful parenting style. 4.Students’ English learning motivation, attitude and parenting styles were significantly positively correlated. According to the results, the study suggests that teachers and parents should pay more attentions to students’ learning, and adopt effective teaching methods and parenting styles to improve students’ learning motivation and attitude.
