Summary:碩士 === 亞洲大學 === 健康產業管理學系健康管理組 === 100 ===   In the last 15 years, medical institutions of Taiwan have faced the situation of saturated, continuous reduction of hospital, and challenges of predicament for running institutions, due to the rising of education level, the popularity of the Mass media, the rapid disseminateing of internet information, and the governmental policy of actively promoting global budget to limit the expenditure of health care. Based on this situation, Medical tourism” is a “Blue Ocean” for solving the dilemmas of the medical industry.   The aim of this study is to explore the value chains of promoting medical tourism of main domestic medical units. Use Porter’s five forces model to analyze the industry of the suppliers. Their experiences are expected to summarize the issues and core knowledge what promoting medical tourism are facing to. These issues and core knowledge would be the guidance for the government to formulate related policies and for the promoting institutes to develop managing strategies.   This study finds six issues that Taiwan medical industry now encounters since medical tourism has been promoted for years. Those six issues are “Lack of national resources,” “Lack of horizontal integration of government units becomes loads of coordinating institutes,” “Implementing difficulties of continuous tracking services,” “Problems of visa date,” and “Insufficient services, amount of patients or customers are less”.   This study suggests the government units to upgrade the sponsor to the national level, integrating government relevant departments, increasing national resources. It also suggests the institutes establishing friendly international websites, and developing fully system according to its value chains. The medical tourism will be promoted effectively.
