Subjects were enrolled in two classes of Jheng Sing elementary school in Kaohsiung City. Two classes were assigned as the experimental group (n=33) and control group (n=33). The experimental group accepted ten-lesson dengue fever prevention curriculum designed by the researcher, and the control group adopted ten-lesson DFP curriculum with traditional instruction. The two groups were assessed by a DFP questionnaire consisted of cognition, attitude and behavior sub-scales before and after the DFP courses. The data of learning sheets, team reports and guidance posters created by students were collected and analyzed. The findings in this study were listed as follows: 1.Students’ scores in percentage in three sub-scales of DFP questionnaire were 63.2, 62.3 and 75.2, respectively. This result indicates that the elementary school students’ cognition, attitude and behavior toward dengue fever prevention and control need to be improved. 2.In terms of cognition, attitude and behavior toward DFP, there was no significant difference in the following background variables: different kinds of houses, parents’ education level and parents’ occupation. However, a significant difference was observed in sex. The cognition of boy toward dengue fever prevention and control was significantly better than that of girl. 3.There was no difference between two groups before lessons, and all of them made great progress after lessons. The experiment group got significantly a higher score than the control group. 4.The television (80.3%) and school brochures (72.7%) were the major media to get the information about DFP. Moreover, the people who provided students DFP information mostly were teachers (74.2%) and parents (59.1%). In conclusion, television, school brochures, teachers and parents played very important roles in DFP. Hu,Wenpin 胡文品 2012 學位論文 ; thesis 115 zh-TW
