Description
Summary:碩士 === 東海大學 === 宗教研究所 === 100 === The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of the Third Wave Movement on the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan. In order to explore the influencial process of the Third Wave Movement on local Presbyterian Churches in Taiwan, the Presbyterian Glory-Star Church in Taipei, the first Presbyterian local church transformed to Charismatic church in northern Taiwan, is selected as our study case. Utilizing the qualitative design, in-depth interview with church’s professional and lay leaders, participation in church activities, and collection of church documents are the major resource for the data analysis. The findings show that three major factors promote the transformation of Taipei Glory-Star Presbyterian Church to a Charismatic church: (1) the social networks between the church’s lay leaders and Charismatic leaders at home and abroad churches; (2) the collective consciousness induced by church members’ Charismatic experiences; (3) the reinforcement of the church growth in the process of the adaptation to Charismatic church. In addition, this study also find that the Presbyterian Glory-Star Church experience the change of worship ritual both in Sunday service and group meetings, Presbyterian theology, and the governance of Presbyterian representative system.
