Description
Summary:碩士 === 東海大學 === 美術學系 === 100 === ABSTRACT Making a drawing has been recognized by me as an "Exit of mind." For a long time which is a very suitable medium for ideological transformation and emotion expression. However, coming from the realization of work and life experience and entering into the fine arts graduate school of Tunghai university, upon the thoughts and creativity of painting forms, I try to use individual special "Feelings" as elements to express "Philosophy" or "Society" during the interactive process of transformation between specific themes and unique self-aesthetic drawing language. Not only can the "psychological distance" between the artist and the viewers get closer, but it also allows viewers to feel a deeper motivation from the artist and to enrich the content of the work and the thinking aspect. Aside from rational and emotional painting, I hope to achieve the state of "Feeling beyond Form." Since the grounding sources of Self-painting were retrospected, inducted and interpreted, they could be divided into the three main contents of Art: (1) The foundation of Cubism, Symbolism and Surrealism, (2) The combination of Abstraction and Expressionism, (3) Intuitive (Configuration) Creation / Drawing. By extending these foundations, I desire to resort to one kind of unchangeable idea or emotion in my work, claim to convey ideas in current society, and practice "Feelings" expression of artistic creations and humanities. Nowadays, what should be emphasized in order to dominate the most difficult and unclear part of the world? There is no doubt that I should focus on my workplace which is so close to me. Through the usage of structure, shape, color, symbols, media...and so on, the creations of my painting rely on the caprices of the past work and life experience. Bringing up the images mixed with reality and fiction associates the paintings with the real world. As painting itself has a recognizable theme, people are given some kind of feeling and association, and so are able to construct a fantasy world in the heart. It is hoped that the presentation of the artistic work can not only be extended to some sort of reflection and deepen the meaning of the creation, but also can maintain the ideal of "Contradictions of Distance" in aesthetics which was emphasized by Bullough. To imply the element of "Feeling", into the theme "Feeling beyond Form", I have to confine my mind to the range of the workplace and life thought within the process outlined. The creative vocabulary and images often make use of the alternative symbolic meanings of daily life objects, which form abstract concepts to convey the expression of the "Feelings." For example, "chair" symbolizes "power position" or "position"; "scepter" symbolizes "power" or "execution"; "cherry" symbolizes "temptation" or "the goal of life " etc. Making use of the concrete image in association with the abstract idea could not express its unique symbol clearly at the initial state of usage. But after the repeated usage by the artist, it not only generates some kind of significant meaning but also reflects a particular emotion from the artist and it can even show the conceptual tendency of image language. Under the combination of the intellectual and refined aesthetics, the "New Contents" with feeling the beauty of the creative works are summarized as follows: (1) Let the works overflow with visible vitality. (2) Take advantage of metaphors and symbols for the real life. (3) Emotional associations with both the abstract creative vocabularies and personalized symbols. (4) Make full use of the communication language from the original functionality for the shape and color. (5) Use theme-focused emotion and tension with limited color; Display rhythm and texture with wanton strokes. (6) Make drawing yield plastic elements puzzled with pure nonsense images. Art history tells us: "the real great art works of the word are always life portrayal." In order to highlight the creative theme of this presentation, "Feeling beyond Form", and let the element of "Feelings" be shown upon the creative works, the artist mixes fresh, surprising, and mysterious ingredients to show that it will ultimately reach to the most anticipated final objective of art for the author: "Let the works overflow with visible vitality." The artist combines creative techniques with realism and abstract, and also breaks the traditional realistic method by adding abstract elements. By using vibrant and lively colors, flexible and unconstrained lines, the artist demands unique self-creation by himself. The ultimate goal is "Through life thinking of aesthetic, practice the emotional expression of art creations and humanities." Keywords: Feeling beyond Form, Feelings, Vitality, Metaphors
