Also, the study used questionnaires to analyze the difference that the fifth and sixth grade students, based on their background varieties, perceive about the coach’s paternalistic leadership behavior and team cohesion. Data were collected from the 153 boys and 156 girls total are 309 children in the elementary school volleyball players participating the 56th National He Gia Cup volleyball tournament in 2012. Based on the self-designed research tool, “the Scale of Volleyball Players’ Perception of the Coach’s Paternalistic Leadership Behavior and Team Cohesion for Fifth and Sixth Grade Students,” descriptive statistics, independent sample t-test, one-way ANOVA, LSD post hoc comparison, and repeat amount one-way ANOVA were used to calculate and analyze the collected data. The results were as follow: 1.The influence levels of the fifth and sixth grade students’ perception of the coach’s paternalistic leadership behavior, from high to low, were “Moral Leadership”, “Authoritarian Leadership” and “Benevolent Leadership”. 2. The influence levels of the fifth and sixth grade students’ perception of the team cohesion, from high to low, were “Task cohesion” and “ Social cohesion”. 3. The differences of volleyball players’ perception of the coach’s paternalistic leadership behavior were obvious, including: The boy players’ perception in “Authoritarian Leadership” was affected at the higher level than girl players did. And players whom had been trained six days per week perceived “Authoritarian Leadership” more than whom had been trained five days per week. 4. The differences of volleyball players’ perception of the coach’s paternalistic leadership behavior were obvious, including: 1 Players whom attended the team more than two years had been highly influenced in “Social cohesion” than whom attended less than one year or more than one year less than two years; and 2 Players who had six training days per week had been highly influenced in both “ task cohesion” and “ social cohesion” than who had five training days per week. 5. There was a significant positive correlation between the fifth and sixth grade students’ perception of the coach’s paternalistic leadership behavior and team cohesion. 6. That team cohesion could be improved and enhanced by the perception of the coach’s paternalistic leadership behavior for the fifth and sixth grade students is apparently predictable. Key words: elementary school volleyball players, the National He Gia Cup volleyball tournament, paternalistic leadership, team cohesion 王宗騰 2012 學位論文 ; thesis 0 zh-TW
