However, whether such operations by hand can result in wrist deviation and how to improve is rarely discussed in literature. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to explore the issue and propose improvement measures. The initial experiment was divided into two stages. The first stage was to ana-lyze and understand the user’s operating habits by the questionnaire and observation methods, finding the three most commonly used ways of luggage are: pull, horizontal push and inclined push; at the second stage, 30 subjects were invited to carry out opera-tions in these three ways and recorded the ulnar deviation-radial deviation and palmar flexion-dorsiflexion angles for two different lengths according to the characteristics of the luggage trolley. The results suggested that the three ways of use are significant, however, the actions of pull and inclined push have not significant differences for different lengths of operation while the horizontal push action has differences. According to the experimental results, literature review and experience in use, this study proposed the design principles regarding the design of the luggage trolley with four design recommendations of A, B, C, D, and made the models accordingly; during the verification experiment, the original 30 subjects were invited to operate in three ways of the four models of grips in ergonomics design grip to record the ulnar deviation-radial deviation and palmar flexion-dorsiflexion angles and elbow/arm states of operating lug-gage in case of different lengths of the four models of grips. Meanwhile, regarding the grip comfort and easiness of grip operation, the subjects were asked to give subjective evaluation. According to the statistical analysis, when the user is carrying out the actions of inclined push and pull, the elbow and arm are extended in a straight position, therefore, the two actions have little influence on the length. When carrying out the horizaitonal push action, above 70% subjects would bend their arms and elbows. According to the evaluation results of degree of easiness in use, the design of Model is more suitable for the reference of designers to improve the luggage trolley grip. Its design principles are: grip internal dimension should be defined above 10 cm, the grip thickness height should be 4 cm, the grip thickness width should be 3 cm. the cross-section of the grip in the center should be close to the shape of egg—wider at the top and narrow at the bottom and should be tilted in the direction of the luggage by 20°, regarding the overall shape of the grip, the outer shape of the two ends should be of smooth arcs. In the center of the grip, to alleviate the oppression on the major force ap-plying fingers (middle finger and ring finger), it should be shaped with slight convex to comply with the natural states of the fingers in case of not applying the force to reduce the pressure on the fingers.
