Description
Summary:碩士 === 大同大學 === 化學工程學系(所) === 100 === The etherification of glycerol (GLY) with tert-butyl alcohol (TBA) around 60℃ to 100℃ with acid catalysts can produce oxygenates for diesel. In this work, the reaction between GLY and TBA was carried around 100℃ to 190℃ in a batch reactor adopting the recipe TBA / GLY molar ratio to 4:1, Amberlyst-70 catalyst 10wt% of GLY, and reaction time 8 hours. A homogeneous liquid phase product was obtained at the reaction temperatures 100℃ and 115℃; however, a two-phase liquid phase product (the upper layer was an organic phase; the lower layer was an aqueous phase). In the study, we used the GC/MS to analyze the product distribution. We found that the main products at the reaction temperatures 100℃ and 115℃ were Mono-tert-Butyl Glycerol Ethers (MBGEs), Di-tert-Butyl Glycerol Ethers(DBGEs), and Tri-tert-Butyl Glycerol Ether (TBGE); while the the main products at the reaction temperatures 150℃ and 190℃ were Diisobutylenes(DIB)and the hydrocarbon-cut product (C8 to C16). We also compared the GC diagrams between the obtaind product at 190℃ with those of gasoline, aviation fuel, and petroleum diesel and found that the composition of the obtaind product was closed to gasoline or aviation fuel.
