In Taiwan, the industrial design in undergraduate can be divided in three stages: 1. The early stage(from 1973-1985): the department of industrial includes National Cheng Kung University and Tatung University. 2. The middle stage(from 1985-2000): the department of industrial of higher education includes Tunghai University, Huafan University, Da-yeh University etc. And technological and vocational education includes National Yunlin University of Science & Technology, National Taipei University of Technology etc. There are ten universities. 3. The recent stage(from 2000 to present): the department of industrial includes National Kaohsiung Normal University and National United University. Through the literature review and oral history, we have individually explored the school background, course curriculum, faculty members. The industrial design class key points could conclude as follow: 1. The part of development: in 1990s, because the policy of undergraduate education was changed, the department of industrial design was beginning increasing. 2. The part of curriculum: the curriculum was influenced by different stage, as like the curriculum in the near stage, it was variety because of internationalism and a variety of learning. 3. The part of teaching characteristic: it was changed because of time, and was influenced by the faculty members and the plan of curriculum.
