Because the influence factors of girder camber are tremendous, it has been an important research topic in the field of bridge construction how to predict and control the camber variation of bridge girder. The objective of this paper is to describe the proposed method of camber control based on Kalman filter method and the camber-control results of a large-span FCC bridge and a cable-stayed bridge using the proposed method. The camber value of girder is chosen as the control parameter in this study. The empirical mode decomposition method, combining with correlation analysis, is applied to obtain the optimal values of the systematic error and measurement error required for operating Kalman filter method, which have not been appropriately defined yet. Finally, one real case, from the camber control of the BanQiao 2nd FCC bridge with the longest span of 170 meters, and one simulation case, from the Kao-Ping-Hsi Cable-stayed Bridge, are performed by using the constructed prediction model.
