There were two systems been developed. One is using blend method to modify PVA electrolyte. The results showed the water uptake ,ion-exchange capacity(IEC) and ion conductivity decreasing additions of GO. It’s because COOH group of GO was cross linked to the OH group of PVA, and made the membrane more compaction. As increasing the GO content(less than 1.5 wt%),it can also decrease the methanol permeability. It was attributed to the two dimensional nanostructures of GO can be a barrier of methanol cross-over and reduces the un wanted transport. If add too much GO addition, it might be clustered then increased water uptake and methanol permeability. Consequently, discussed how did the fixed orientation of GO influence the proton exchange membranes by using Nafion membrane as a substrate and transferring the GO film on the surface of membrane. It was called GO-laminated Nafion (Nafion/GO). The structure was investigated by SEM. Compared to random blend, Nafion/GO arranged in oriented direction. The methanol permeability decreased 70 wt%. The membrane electrode-as-assemblies (MEA) result showed that the new developed Nafion/GO membrane can cause higher power output at high methanol concentration (2 times higher than Nafion did when the concentration of methanol is 8 M). none 林智汶 2012 學位論文 ; thesis 102 zh-TW
