It also compare different socio-demographic attributes on job involvement. A total of 260 questionnaires were distributed to and collected from the firemen of New Taipei City. The descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, analysis of variance and regression analysis were applied to analyze the available 230 (88%) original data. The empirical findings as follows: 1.The demographic attributes of “years in fire department” and “family characteristics” will influence firemen’s job involvement. 2.Job characteristics and job stress of firemen have positive correlation. 3.Job characteristics have significant positive relationship on job involvement. 4.The major influence factors of job stress on job involvement can be seen in "organizational climate", "promotion", "special task" and "other" variables. The thesis discusses the findings, highlighting the strategic implications and outlines areas for further research. Finally,the thesis suggests that the authorities can effectively enhance the job involvement of the firemen through understand the importance of job pressure and job characteristics.
