Description
Summary:碩士 === 中華科技大學 === 航空運輸研究所在職專班 === 101 === The cost of aircraft maintenance for airlines shares a significant portion of the company’s overall operating costs, and thus reducing aircraft maintenance costs and establishing the effective cost control system have become the main concern for airlines’ top administrators. Above all, aircraft parts, which directly affect flight safety and operations, are the major components to the cost of aircraft maintenance. Therefore, reducing aircraft parts inventory and controlling costs while maintaining high quality guarantee rate for aircraft parts at the same time have become an important goal for airlines. Through SWOT analysis, this research analyzes the factors affecting the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats for the current aircraft parts inventory of the Taiwanese owned carriers. Also, through the appropriate combination of TOWS matrix, strategies for aircraft parts management are proposed. By using Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and having interviews with aviation industry experts, the order of priority of those nineteen specific topics set up by the experts is established. Then, the study about the aircraft parts control is presented in the form of question statement. The study shows that the product quality and prices of aircraft parts are the two major considerations in selecting a supplier. Selecting a supplier will have a great and direct impact on purchasing costs for every airline. To compete against its competitors, an airline tends to develop into long term relationships with its existing suppliers to increase suppliers’ performance. Therefore, the evaluation of the current suppliers’ performance and the implementation of the aircraft parts supply chain management have become the most important issue for airlines aircraft parts management.
