The data of 17 body sizes and 4 static muscle strengths from 192 subjects aged between 12 and 14 years were collected and analyzed. The results show that gender and age were significant factors affecting static muscular strengths. The four isometric strengths of the male subjects were significantly higher (p &;lt;0.0001) than those of the females. The isometric strengths of the female subjects were approximately 65% of those of their male counterparts. The multiple comparison test results indicate no significant difference on the isometric arm strength between the 13 and 14 years groups, but both of them were significantly higher than the 12 years old group. The isometric shoulder strength of the 14 years old was significantly higher than the other two groups and the 13 years old was significantly higher than the 12 years old group. The isometric composite strength between the 12 and 13 years groups were not significantly different. They were significantly lower than that of the 14 years old group. Similar results were found for the isometric back strength. The correlation analysis results showed that the correlation between the arm, composite, and back strengths have the highest correlation with the stature while the isometric shoulder strength had the highest correlation with the body weight. Regression models, using gender and age as dummy variables, were established. The R2 of the models were between 0.54 and 0.94. The models can be adopted to predict isometric strengths for the teenagers and are help for designers to develop new products for junior high students. KAI-WAY LI 李開偉 2013 學位論文 ; thesis 105 zh-TW
