Through exploration and discussion of the multifaceted relationships between the functions of all the control modules--including input/output signals, functional diagram, switch machine structure and control signals--I hope to create a simplified, yet comprehensive, malfunction diagnostic system possibility analysis to better understand the controlled plant model. This analysis will also contribute to the future design of a suitable controlling module (or program and algorithm), which will elevate the stability and dependability of the electronic equipment and provide a safer, more dependable rail operating system. Through this study, I also hope to compensate for the current deficiencies of the switch machine monitoring system by analyzing the world’s high speed rail controlling protocol. Later, combined with the switch machine fail database, a more powerful malfunction decision system can be developed to provide faster and more accurate information to the control center or decision center as the reference data for optimizing the operation protocol. The entire effort can greatly increase the efficiency of repair work management and transportation safety, as well as lower operation loss. At the same time, this will be a first for the world’s high speed rail operation; and therefore, can be a concrete reference of improvement plan for other countries with high speed rail operations.
