Description
Summary:碩士 === 中華大學 === 機械工程學系碩士班 === 101 === In recent years, O-rings have become a mass production product. As a result, it becomes crucial to check their quality quickly and reliably in order to survive in the rigorous competitive environment. Nevertheless, surface flaw inspection of O-rings still relies on human inspectors. In the present research, we established an optical inspection system for the quality assurance of O-rings. The system consists of four inspection stations. The first inspection station was designed to measure the inside diameter, outside diameter, and thickness of O-rings. The second and third inspection station was dedicated to the detection of surface flaws occurred on the front and back surfaces of an O-ring, respectively. The fourth inspection station overcomes the limitation of conventional inspection systems that are incapable of capturing the complete and clear images outer curve surfaces of an O-ring by establishing a reflective device. The reflective device is composed of several mirrors located around the O-ring under inspection. By using the proposed reflective device and the principle of optical reflectivity, the third inspection station is able to check the aforementioned surfaces for flaws. The high flaw detection rate of 88.3% indicates that the proposed system is appropriate for inspecting O-rings.
