Description
Summary:碩士 === 中國科技大學 === 企業管理研究所 === 101 === The development of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) has been vigorous in recent years. Various global industries have been succeeded in bringing the concept and the technology of RFID into their businesses. Besides, along with the highly global competition, the enterprises pursue more efficient way in reducing the inventories and warehousing in order to meet the rapid change of the market. This trend is particular severe in Taiwan panel industries. Based on the above observations and the trends, this study tries to figure out the problems occurred within the applications of RFID and the warehousing operation procedures. This study attempts to understand the feasibility of the application of RFID on Taiwan panel industry and its real effects. The case study method was employed. With the interviews and the practical observations, the study investigates the current problems of warehousing operations system, followed by introducing the RFID technology to the warehousing operation procedures of the case company. The period of time and the process are compared and examined. The results indicates that employing RFID technology in the case company promotes the efficiency in several aspects; purchasing-49.5%, stocktaking-97.8%, replenishment-87.6%, transshipment-68.3%. Using RFID technology can simplify the management process, shorten the period of time it takes in processing, reduce the costs of warehousing, get accurate information of inventories, and make the right decisions for scheduling the production.
