Effectiveness of Illness Management Program on the Insight, Attitude and Adherence of Community patients with Schizophrenia

碩士 === 中臺科技大學 === 護理研究所 === 101 === The aim of the study is to investigate the effectiveness of "Illness Management Program" on the insight, medication attitude and adherence of community patients with Schizophrenia. The research was quasi-experimental designed and purposive sampling. The study involved two community rehabilitation centers in western Taiwan (intervention group:20;control group:19). The patients in intervention group received "Illness Management Program" group activities (60 mins per time, one time per week, totally 7 times) while the patients in control group maintained their daily life. There were a pre-test before the intervention and a post-test one month after the intervention for each patient. The Inventories included Schedule for assessment of Insight in Psychosis (SIP), Drug Attitude Inventory (DAI-10) and Medication Adherence Rating Scales (MARS). The data were analysed by SPSS 17 package, including the percentage, average, standard deviation, Chi-square test, independent t-test, paired t-test and ANCOVA. Compared with pre-test scores, the post-test scores of SIP, DAI-10 and MARS significantly increased in the intervention group.It revealed that "Illness Management Program" improve the insight, medication attitude and of community patients with Schizophrenia. The study suggests that 1. The "Illness Management Program" can be involved as a routine activity in community rehabilitation facilities. 2. Prolonged observation period can be considered.
