A Study of Job Stress and Job Satisfaction of Administrative Teachers in Elementary and Junior High Schools in Remote Areas of Taichung City

碩士 === 中臺科技大學 === 文教事業經營研究所 === 101 === This study is to explore the current situation and relation of job stress and job satisfaction of administrative teachers in elementary and junior high schools in remote areas of Taichung City, and to understand the different senses of teachers with different background. According to the results, suggestions are given to enhance how to reduce job stress and to raise job satisfaction and the will of taking administrative position.The research method employed in this study was survey method and literary analysis with a questionnaire entitled "The questionnaire of the job stress and job satisfaction of elementary and junior high school teachers." A total of 330 questionnaire were expected to be distributed. The number of valid responses was 303, and the usable rate was 91.81%. The collected data was analyzed by descriptive statistics, T-test, one-way ANOVA,Pearson product-moment correlation, canonical correlation, multiple regression analysis, and obtained the following findings: (1) The points of elementary and junior high school teachers' job stress in remote areas of Taichung City were below the average but job satisfaction were above the average.(2) There were significant differences by different sex and administrative seniority in the dimensions of the "work load" in job stress and also there were significant differences in the dimensions of the "working interest and a sense of accomplishment" and "salary treatment" in job satisfaction.(3) There was a significant negative correlation between job stress and job satisfaction. Namely if job stress is higher and then job satisfaction will be lower. (4) There are remarkable predictive power to job satisfaction in the two dimensions of the "work load" and the "interpersonal communication" in job stress. Finally, based on the findings to make recommendations for schools, teachers and future researchers of reference.
