However, the causal relationship is not clear and definite yet. Ascertaining the causal relationship is contributive to carry out the policy. Therefore, this research which is based on elementary school students tries to understand the situation of energy saving and carbon reduction among students, and investigates the causal relationship among cognitive concepts, attitudinal trends and practical actions of energy saving and carbon reduction. This research hypothesizes there is positive relationship among cognitive concepts, attitudinal trends, practical actions and energy saving and carbon reduction; furthermore, cognitive concepts and attitudinal trends are the main factors to influence practical actions. The main purpose of this research is being reference of promoting environmental protection by investigating elementary school students for the relative condition among cognitive concepts, attitudinal trends and practical actions of energy saving and carbon reduction. The subjects of this research are the sixth grade of elementary school students in Tainan. In order to process relative and variant analyses by using SPSS 17 and analyze the causal relationship among cognitive concepts, attitudinal trends and practical actions by using AMOS 18, I randomly assigned numbers to population and sampled 580 subjects to collect data by questionnaire survey. Research result: In cognitive concepts, there is significant difference in the factors of father’s occupation, the main resources of energy knowledge and knowing that the energy in Taiwan relies on importation. In attitudinal trends, there is significant difference in the factors of scale of school, mother’s occupation, the main resources of energy knowledge, knowing that the energy saving and carbon reduction activities which government is promoting and knowing that the energy in Taiwan relies on importation. In practical actions, there is significant difference in the factors of the subjects’ gender, scale of school, father’s occupation, mother’s occupation, knowing the energy saving and carbon reduction activity called 3R and knowing that the energy in Taiwan relies on importation. For elementary school students, there is highly positive relationship among cognitive concepts, attitudinal trends and practical actions of energy saving and carbon reduction. There's causal relationship among the students' integrated knowledge, attitude and action of energy saving and carbon reduction.Among these factors, knowledge is the source and attitude is the media which affect the action indirectly. The research result will provide reference to establish the practical application of energy saving and carbon reduction education.
