The children’s health can be affected by their diet preferences. “Three meals everyday” is the happiest thing that children feel. In our country, the researches between diet preferences and well-being haven’t been found. Therefore, this study is to investigate the relationship between diet preferences and well-being. Method: The children of the fifth & sixth grade elementary school students in southern Taichung city were included. We had issued 480 questionnaires and retrieved 480 questionnaires. All 480 questionnaires were valid. The research tool is “elementary school students’ diet preferences and happiness scale”. The data were collected and statistically analyzed. Conclusion: 1. The different backgrounds (gender, grade, family structure and socioeconomic status) of the fifth & sixth grade elementary school students have partial influence on diet preferences. 2. The different backgrounds of the fifth & sixth grade elementary school students have no influence on well-being. 3. Diet preferences of the fifth & sixth grade elementary school students have impact on well-being; especially the influences of the parents are most significant.
