This study aims to investigate the patient enrolled in the Shared Care Diabetes diabetic about basic properties, disease status and depression status of correlation. Methods: A cross-sectional study designs, sample of 99 type 2 diabetic patients aged 20–85 years was selected during the period from April 2012 to October 2012. A prestructured questionnaire was used for collecting the information about sociodemographic data and clinical characteristics. Depression was evaluated using Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale (Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale, CES-D). A CES-D score ≥15 has been recommended as a cutoff point for depression. Weights and heights were measured. Glycated hemoglobin was abstracted from each patient directly after the interview. Result: 14 (14.1%) have depression according to the CES-D score. This study shows that patient have short durations and high level of education to have a depressive. Integration of psychosocial problems for patients as early as possible in the patient plays an important role in diabetes care. Early assessment and therapy of psychological problems helps to improve blood sugar control and diabetes self-management and furthermore, to have a better quality of life.
