The cover glass is one of the core components used in manufacturing panel products. How to improve the quality and increase the yield rate for the cover glass production is the key factor of making profits for manufacturers. In this study, a lean system implementation model is proposed by integrating PDCA continuous improvement model and lean techniques, such as value stream mapping, self-inspection, quick changeover, and so on. The proposed key performance index includes throughput, worker’s multiple skills, yield rate, and response time to abnormality. The proposed approach is implemented in a local panel manufacturer. Results of this study suggest that the proposed lean approach improve production efficiency for the panel industry.
