People is getting concern about their health and medical therapy. Sleeping almost occupies one third time of everyday, which cause bedding stuff being used very often and quite important. But spend too much time on sleeping or lying on the bed probably will cause poor blood circulation, bedsore and other health problems. In recent years, natural materials gradually receive people’s attention. And tourmaline is the mineral that has far infrared radiation which can promote blood circulation of human body, activate the human cell and other health functions. For achieving the purpose of enhancing human immune system, the tourmaline can be applied to mattresses. In this study, bedding industry and the patent of mattresses are analyzed. The TRIZ theory is need to develop and design the compound mattresses of the far infrared /pp and the PET mattresses, then estimate the effects of far infrared radiation which causes the body temperature differences. From the study results, the tourmaline/PP/PET compound mattresses have the highest temperature gap. The result is affected by the types of mattress rather than testers, and the tourmaline/PP/PET compound mattresses don’t affect the radiation dosage of far infrared. Because PET provides better warmth-keeping, so that tourmaline/PP/PET compound mattress can cause the highest temperature gap, and three layers of tourmaline/PP mattress provides better air permeability but worse warming effects. This study result suggests that six layers of tourmaline/PP mattress can reach the better effective health care function.
