In addition to enhancing the expertise of the Board, Board members shall have a heart of mercy toward the disabled and regard patients as relatives. The board size of Non-profit Hospital and composition of board members at the Medical Care Act stipulates that the relevant provisions of this study intended to have motivation of Care Act amended Article 43 of the draft stipulates that term and the relaxation of Directors Directors who possess at least one qualification to which directors the term of not more than four years, was re-elected but re-elected directors, each shall not exceed two-thirds of this repair method for medical directors of the Foundation and the number of directors elected at each maturity restrictions are clearly defined. The empirical study used Non-profit Hospitals from 2005 to 2011 as research subjects to explore the relationship between board member characteristics, terms and financial performance, and social welfare. The empirical results showed that in financial performance (after-tax surplus and deficit ratio), hospitals with participation of insiders to support the Board, a director who is also the dean of the hospital and directors who have been re-elected for 5 years had better financial performance(after-tax surplus and deficit ratio), while the scale of board support had better non-financial performance (occupancy rate). In educational research development costs of social welfare, the scale of board support impacted the educational research development costs of social welfare, while the participation of insiders of the Board enhanced the willingness to increase the investment in medical social services of social welfare. Although the original intention of establishing Non-profit Hospitals is to promote the health of people and fulfill social welfare, Non-profit Hospitals worry that devoting to social welfare will impact financial performance. The results of this study supported that the more the Non-profit Hospitals invest on social welfare, the better the net income will be. The results can be provided to competent authorities for reference when revising hospital-related governance systems in the future. 高惠松 2013 學位論文 ; thesis 100 zh-TW
