The rapid growing of China consumes huge amount of resources and energies. It brought about cost rising and mutual competition seriously among these countries, worsening the cross-border pollutions. It also caused negative influences to the neighbor countries dramatically. This content discussed the issues based on the regional division of labor of the ASEAN and the competitive strength of China in the world. It confined regional markets and analyzed only on industries (manufacturers) focusing on trading and investing. The chosen ASEAN members for analyzing were 4 countries that started the development earlier (Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and Philippines) and one that started comparatively later, Vietnam. The industries, trading structures and developing stages of the ASEAN countries that initiated the development earlier were similar to that of China. Although the development of Vietnam started comparatively later, with the help of its own population and natural resources that are similar to the above mentioned countries, the country could gradually develop to have similar industry and trading structure. The mutual competition among these countries might be increased obviously. To take the impact caused by the rapid rising of China, the industrializing process in Vietnam will be expected to be more competitive. Key words: the rise of China, ASEAN, trade, investment
