After 1990's, many art cafe start to provide showrooms for new artists who often do not have the access to the traditional museums. As a result, the combination of coffee drinking and art showing/viewing become a new cultural consumption. This thesis studies the historical background of coffee house in Taiwan and the new consuming behavior in present art cafe house. Based on Bourdieu's theory of practice, this thesis focuses on three dimensions: space, actor and practice. This thesis concludes: 1, art cafe is more than just a coffee house. 2, actors are looking for not only a "third place", but also a space of information exchanging. 3, the consumption in art cafe is more than a consumer behavior, it is in fact a distinguished practice of taste and social status. 王祖龍 2013 學位論文 ; thesis 105 zh-TW
