碩士 === 輔仁大學 === 統計資訊學系應用統計碩士班 === 101 === The main purpose of this study is to estimate the product value of sports service industry in Taiwan through classifying, generalizing, and calculating data from the Industry, Commerce, and Service Census, and further processed and statistically analyzed by Pearson’s Correlation and Regression. The results are as follows: (1) the sports media industry is positively correlated with wholesalers and retailers of sports products or equipment. (2) educational service for leisure sports industry is positively correlated with wholesalers of sports products and rental of recreational equipment. (3) rental of sports and recreational equipment, educational services for leisure sports and wholesalers of sports products or equipment have positive linear correlation with corresponding GDP values. (4) in terms of the relationship between GDP and sports service industry, only the rental of sports and recreational equipment and educational service for leisure sports exhibit high linear correlation with their corresponding GDPs. This study suggests that even though some parts of the sports industry have no significant positive correlation with GDP, they are positively correlated to one another. With the value of sports service industry increasing every year, we can expect a booming future for sports service industry complemented by appropriate government policies.
