Description
Summary:碩士 === 輔仁大學 === 護理學系碩士班 === 101 === The purpose of this quasi-experimental, purposive sampling study was to explore the effect of auricular point acupressure (APA) for puerpera with insomnia. The study was conducted in one postpartum centre (doing-the-month centre) in Northern Taiwan. Sixty puerpera screened by Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI) which score above 5. Thirty puerpera received APA for 21 days (experimental group) and 30 women (control group) receivced routine care only. The outcomes were measured by the PSQI. We collected pre-test (the 6th day of postpartum) data from both groups prior to the-6 day and after 21-day APA intervention (the 28th day of postpartum) following the final APA. SPSS version 17.0 software was used to manage and analyze data. Results of GEE demonstrated a greater improvement of PSQI scores in the experimental group rather than the control group (β= -2.10, p <.001). The study demonstrated that the 21-day APA was an effective intervention for puerperal with insomnia. This APA intervention could be used by other obstetric professionals in order to promote the quality of sleep in clinic setting.
