The different proportions of copper and zinc powders and the same proportions of aluminum, iron, manganese, or alumina powders were mixed, compacted and hot pressed into the samples of the brass matrix composites, and thereafter resin was infiltrated. Their porosities, densities, hardness, bending strengths, rupture strain, and strain energy were studied. The experiment results showed that the brass matrix alumina composite obtained after hot pressed displayed a similar porosity. However, their hardness with the increase the amount of zinc increased. Besides, the samples containing alumina powder showed a larger total porosity, a higher hardness, a lower bending strength and strain energy than those of without alumina. It is attributed to the poor bonding between metal powders and alumina during sintering, which causes the sample to be weaker. The brass matrix composites obtained after resin infiltrated displayed more 3-5 times of close porosity, 83-153% of hardness, 52-96% of bending strength and 52-96% of strain energy than those of without resin. This is because the resin was infiltrated into the pore of the brass matrix composites, causing bonding capacity among the powders to be improved.
