Therefore the adaptive performance of employees has been gradually taken seriously. Pulakos et al.,(2000) contributed for adaptive performance, and mentioned to develop the adaptive performance scale for different industries. Respondents were collected from Life Insurance Agents to develop to the adaptive performance scale for the insurance industry. Feat factor analysis. We found that adaptive performance contains five dimensions(i.e., interpersonal and cultural adaptability, creative thinking, active learning, work stress adaptation and response capabilities). In the insurance industry , leaders and subordinates will have much interaction. Therefore subordinates can feel the leadership style of leaders and be influenced easily. This study examined the relationship between leadership style (i.e., transformational leadership, transactional leadership) and adaptive performance. Respondents were collected from Life Insurance Agents.166 usable data was obtained through questionnaire. The study in this paper shows: (1)Transformational leadership is positively related to interpersonal and cultural adaptability, creative thinking, active learning, work stress adaptation and response capabilities.(2)Transactional relationship is positively related to creative thinking, active learning, work stress adaptation, response capabilities. As to transactional relationship is unrelated to demonstrating interpersonal and cultural adaptability.
