Summary:碩士 === 國立高雄應用科技大學 === 觀光與餐旅管理研究所 === 101 === Festival and special events are deemed as an important mean to attract tourists, strengthen local identity and promote local economic. The research takes 2010 Kaohsiung Zuoying Wan-Nien Festival as an example, by adopting Input-Output model, to evaluate the economic effect from specific festival. The research found thatthe 9-days event attacts 561,859 tourists, bringing total consumption of 881,736,565.88 NT dollars. From perspective of output multiplier, the total output value is 1,991,617.2959 NT dollars; while the total income effect reach 20,448,270 NT dollars. The employment multiplier also shows that 135 job opportunities are created by the festival. While the economic effect of Zuoying Wan-Nien Festival is confirmed, the research also make managerial implications and future research suggestions.
