The measured voltage variation across the nickel wire under a constant applied heating current to the wire can be taken as a measure of the temperature variation of the nickel wire caused by the catalytic ozone dissociation or oxygen radical recombination. The stainless steel wire and copper wire made probes were also used for comparison. Experimental results show that when the applied heating current is small, the measured voltages all decrease with increasing the ozone concentration solely caused by the ozone dissociation. However, for the case of higher heating current of 1.5A, the voltage of nickel made probe increases with increasing the ozone concentration. The voltage increase does not occur for both the stainless steel wire and copper wire made probes. The voltage increase of nickel wire made probe is explained by the oxygen radical recombination occurs on the nickel wire surface.
