碩士 === 銘傳大學 === 應用中國文學系碩士班 === 101 === Even though Young Ming Theory was popular in the Ming Dynasty, it also brought out abuses. Many scholars like Wang Shihuai tried to re-identify the opinion of Young Ming to arrange these issues. There are two things we can learn from studying the opinion of Wang Shihuai. First, we can understand the way to solve the abuses with the Young Ming Theory. Second, we can see how these scholars focus on the nature instead of the heart. The main purpose of this study is to figure out the process that Wang Shihuai focused on the nature instead of the heart which affected the other opinion of Wang Shihuai. In Wang Shihuai’s opinion, the nature is always positive. The negative part of human being always comes from the habits. He was worry about the bad habits will make someone become bad, and he thought those Young Ming Theory scholar exaggerated the importance of heart. Wang Shihuai wanted to use nature to control heart. The method he announced to trained one’s personality is focus on the nature part. He asked people to feel the nature inside. Wang Shihuai’s main purpose is to let people can show their own nature without any effects. Wang Shihuai judged the other scholars’ opinion. He seems agreed with Chen Yi and Zhu Xi’s idea, but he changed their theory to suit his own idea. He blamed on some of the scholars who followed the Young Ming theory might affect people in the bad way. Even though Wang Shihuai consented to Buddhist and Taoist’s culture, he was still against to the Buddhism and the Taoism’s conception. Wang Shihuai emphasized that the nature was more important than heart, and his theory was based on nature. In the late Ming Dynasty, Wang Shihuai was one of the important scholars. By studying his theory, we can also understand one of the ways how did the philosophy develop in the late Ming Dynasty.
