Summary:碩士 === 明道大學 === 課程與教學研究所 === 101 === A Study of Applying Portfolio Assessment to Project Approach in Pre-school Abstract By using qualitative research to explore the application of portfolio assessment in a classroom that adopts project teaching approach, this research aims to find out the practical process obstacles in the path of practice, and solving strategies. The researcher collects and analyzes information through class observation, meeting discussion with a teaching team, instructional reflection, class records, anecdotal records and collection of children’s works. The researcher then interviews teachers to learn difficulties they encountered during the implementation of portfolio assessment and their dealing strategies. Findings of this research are as follows: Ⅰ. The practical process of applying portfolio assessment in the project teaching approach contains identifying research subjects, planning portfolio contents and integrating portfolio assessment into the project teaching approach.Ⅱ.Through the children’s portfolio, instructional reflection, class records and interviewing data the study finds that portfolio assessment can reflect the kids’ learning realistically and facilitate teachers to find out children’s learning status, so that teachers can tutor the m appropriately. Thus, children’s ideas can be better understood which can be used as references for teachers to check the teaching performance. Ⅲ. The implementation of portfolio assessment requires a lot of time and energy of teachers, which is difficult for teachers to carry it out. Based on interviews with teacher, methods to overcome such obstacles are or follows plan the file contents via the model team work, collect children’s information in all areas of learning systematically, find out the suitable data collecting methods or systems for themselves, make good use of time to sort out catalogs, form good habits of not accumulating unsorted files, and apply for administrative support if necessary. Finally, the paper puts forth suggestions to be served as a reference to fellow teachers or people who are interested in children’s portfolio assessment.
