Compared to Co single layer, the Co(12 nm)/CrPt films show strong uniaxial in-plane magnetic anisotropy. The disordered and ordered L10 CrPt films with(111), (110)textures and random orientation were prepared at various depositing temperatures. The maximum uniaxial magnetic anisotropy was obtained in Co/[(110)textured CrPt(600oC)] film. The magnetic anisotropy constants (K1 and K2) of Co/CrPt(110) film was determined by hard-axis hysteresis loop. The values of K1 and K2 were 1.05x105 and 3.46x103 erg/cm3, respectively. The enhancement of in-plane magnetic anisotropy from Co single layer to Co/CrPt films was due to the magnetic anisotropy (KCrPt) contribution of antiferromagnetic L10 CrPt layer and minor influenced by experimental process. The much higher coercivity of Co/CrPt films is mainly due to interface coupling between Co and CrPt. In Co/CrPt(110)film, the Co domain walls are pinned by L10 CrPt in the unidirection and high- and low- coercivities along Co easy-axis are obtained.
