Prosperity, rapid developing market, and demand expansion of China elevator market makes the industry grow rapidly. Nearly 2 million units had been produced until the end of 2011 and it reached three world records including elevator production, inventory, and the growth rate. The rapid developing market is always a highly competitive market. In 30 years, the number of elevator manufacturer has reached more than 450, and for maintenance company is more than 5,000, and this shows how highly competitive the market is. In such a brutal market environment, the industry is facing many problems, but it also means the development of the industry may also appear a new situation. For elevator companies in china, opportunities and challenges exist simultaneously. The research is done by using literature reviewing, expert opinions including qualitative method and analytic hierarchy process (AHP), weight calculation of each dimension index, and re-examination of the industry management to induct new opportunities from the business advantages. The results showed the key factors of success in elevator industry and helped targeting the new overall strategic objectives. It extends the industrial chain into the maintenance market and accessories market. Corresponding functions of strategic adjustment between corporate finance department, human resources, R & D department, production department and marketing department is recommended in order to ensure the implementation of the company''s aggregate planning and business strategy. The results will help elevator industry to make proper strategic decisions, especially for the companies with similar situation in China.
