Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 高階管理碩士在職專班(EMBA) === 101 === In recent years, the aging population structure has caused some countries to experience social problems such as declining national competitiveness and financial difficulty. In particular, disabilities resulting from aging and disease have indicated the necessity of long-term care to the public and relevant units. Although the Taiwanese government has implemented a “Ten-Year Plan for Long-Term Care,” and insurance companies provide long-term care insurance packages, problems regarding insufficient care still exist. To address people’s various long-term care needs, the government has initiated planning to provide long-term care insurance. In the research on people’s behaviors and intentions regarding purchasing long-term care insurance, studies have been conducted to examine the factors that influence people’s intentions for purchasing long-term care insurance. However, studies on the effects of perceived care burden on people’s intentions to purchase insurance are scant. Therefore, we distributed 350 questionnaires to study this issue. An analysis of the 297 recovered copies showed that (1) people who perceive greater care burden have stronger intentions to purchase commercial or in-the-planning governmental long-term care insurance and have with greater perceived physical and mental burdens resulting in stronger intentions; (2) perceived care burden is positively correlated with cash payment preferences regarding insurance contents; and (3) people who have stronger intentions to purchase commercial long-term care insurance have stronger intentions to purchase the long-term care insurance that the government is planning to provide.
